Ordericus Vitalis was born at Atcham, near Shrewsbury, in 1075. His father, Odelerius, was a Norman and his mother was English.
Ordericus Vitalis, historian, b. 1075; d. about 1143. He was the son of an English mother and a French priest who came over to England with the Normans.
