Celebrity stylist Xavier Velasquez notes that crop cuts inspired by the legendary model Twiggy and a hybrid mullet and pixie cut (a style he dubbed a mixie) are trending hairstyles celebs and influencers can't get enough of. While he recommends leaving big chops to professional stylists, Velasquez suggests that d-i-y stans cut into the shape of the hair to prevent bulky lines.
Maintaining a short haircut isn't always easy, but he recommends products like Virtue's 6-n-1-styling paste to add extra texture or a healing oil to keep your short strands shining. Curly and wavy cuts, on the other hand, can be managed at home with the help of curling creams, while buzzed cuts can require weekly or bi-weekly snips.
