Item Details
This WWII German Vis 35 Pistol is marked "FB" (the plant) "Radom" (plant location) "VIS Mod. 35" (Polish model designation) & "Pat. No. 15567" (Wilniewczyc/Skrzypinski patent) on the left side of the frame. Other markings include at least three Nazi "e/77" Radom acceptance stamps, Nazi "e/623 "Styer acceptance stamp" and Nazi test proof stamp. Features include a 4.7" barrel, de-cocking lever, slide stop, take-down lever (omitted on late war models), grip safety, lanyard ring, black checkered grips with "FB", semi-concealed round hammer and unmarked 8-round steel magazine. The Vis 35 was manufactured in 3 major variations (Grades) and subvariations. This gun appears to be a Grade II Subvariation 2 (mid-war variation). This gun is in nice condition with light wear, has a sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. This gun is from the Terry Lee Brown Estate. The Radom VIS P.35 is a 9×19mm caliber, single-action, semi-automatic pistol. Its design was inspired by John Browning's 9mm "Browning GP" pistol which was completed after Browning's death by designers at Fabrique Nationale in Herstal, Belgium. Production of the Vis began at the Fabryka Broni arms factory in Radom in 1935, and was adopted as the standard handgun of the Polish Army the following year. After the German occupation of Poland in 1939, production was turned over to the Nazis. The pistol was valued by German soldiers, and many were issued to elite paratrooper units.
