Event Details

A panel of experts will share what you need to know about puppy mills, inhumane commercial dog breeding facilities that over-breed mother dogs and sell their puppies for profit with little regard for their health and well-being. They will also discuss how Connecticut still allows the retail sale of puppy mill puppies—and more stores are moving into the state— even though laws are being enacted to disallow it in an increasing number of states and localities.

Learn why you should care, what you can do about it and how you can adopt a healthy, well-socialized dog through legitimate resources.

Panelists include Patricia Harmon, a humane policy volunteer leader at The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS); Annie Hornish, Connecticut State Director, HSUS; Morgan Miller, Senior Coordinator for Public Policy, Puppy Mills/Companion Animals, HSUS; and State Rep. David Michel of Stamford.

Registration required.
