Well jus a quick one too see how practical a car is to drive on the road with a lock/welded diff? obviously alot of you guys probably use these when you go out on track.....but does anyone use them on a road going car? and is the car actually drivable?

I have a welded diff and use my car everyday. I only notice the diff when i'm parking or doing short, slow corners and not even that bad imho. Just some shaking and noises. Other than that it's like a standard diff.

excellent! next question would be, is it jus a case of taking the acetaline bottle to the internals as i have been told....or did you get a professional to do it? if so who would you recommend?

Welded diffs rock!!! I have one on mine. If you really want to enjoy drifting properly without spending £600 on a diff then welded diff is definitely the way to go

i used petrol for my first one, but i left it about 2 months in the end before i found someone to weld it so it was thoroughly dry. as for my current one being welded, i sprayed white spirit in it and boiling water and some washing powder. the white spirit did more!

well i got an advantatge, i work in a truck dealership so we got a fuckin huge degreaser tank and an even bigger mig! should be done in no time at all. i was strongly reccomended by a mate not to weld it, which is why i asked.....but he his a mk 2 escort driving limpy thats more worried about clean than drift! :)
