What’s better than a stitch braid? A stitch-braided bun. This week on The Braid Up, we’re giving you a new hairstyle that’s fit for a queen (Meghan Markle, are you reading this??). Our hair-braider guru, Stasha Harris, shows us exactly how to get this stitch-braided bun. And trust me—this style will take your look to The Next Level.

This bun is made up of several feed-in stitch braids. Why is this amazing? Because with the feed-in technique, hair extensions are fed into (obviously) your natural hair, giving it a more seamless finish that also feels way lighter on your head.

Ready to try out this style? Here’s everything you need to know.

1. You’re going to need a lot of hair to make this stitch-braided bun come to life. Stasha uses golden-brown-colored braiding hair, but you can use any color you like.

    2. Laying your edges is a must if you want to level up your look. Use a fine-tooth comb and an edge-control gel, like African Pride Black Castor Miracle Extra Hold Braid, Loc, and Twist Gel or Hicks Total Transformations Edge Gel, to slick down your baby hairs.

    3. Don’t let frizz kill your vibe. Before you go to bed, make sure to use some mousse to set your braids and then wear a silk headscarf while you sleep to keep the flyaways at bay.

    4. Make sure your hair gets the hydration it needs! It’s not a good look if you’re out there lookin’ thirsty, and the same goes for your hair. Make sure to spritz your braids in the morning with a leave-in conditioner mist to keep them from going dry.

And you’re set! Now, check out the video and prepare to stunt on Insta.
