This 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R is a Series 1 V-Spec model and is one of 282 such examples delivered new in Midnight Purple II. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 2.6-liter RB26DETT inline-six paired with a six-speed manual transmission and an ATTESA all-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip rear differential. Features include Super HICAS rear steering, Brembo disc brakes, 18″ wheels, and a factory aero package, while the gray interior is equipped with automatic climate control as well as a Kenwood stereo and a pop-up touchscreen navigation unit. The vehicle was imported from Japan to Canada in 2015, and the seller’s father acquired the car in January 2020. Service since that time has included fluid changes and replacement of the spark plugs. This R34 GT-R is offered with manuals, Japanese auction paperwork, importation documents, a Show or Display letter, a CarVX report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s father’s name.

The Victory Specification package was initially introduced during the R32 generation to celebrate Nissan’s success in FIA Group A and Group N racing. This R34 is one of 4,194 to receive V-Spec equipment, just 282 of which were finished in Midnight Purple II (LV4). Features include a front splitter, xenon headlights, an aluminum hood, a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, and a body-matching rear wing. The seller notes a touched-up blemish on the passenger side of the rear bumper, and the paintwork and exterior trim are shown up close in the photo gallery below.

Factory 18″ six-spoke wheels utilize contoured GT-R center caps and are mounted with Toyo Proxes T1R tires that show 2011 date codes. The wheels exhibit scuffs, and the finish on the right-front wheel is faded. Gold-colored multi-piston Brembo brake calipers came from the factory, as did an electronically actuated Super HICAS rear-wheel-steering system.

The right-hand-drive interior features manually adjustable sport seats with textured gray upholstery and suede inserts, while the black carpeting is protected by checkered floor mats front and rear. The car left the factory with automatic climate control and without audio equipment. A Kenwood M707 stereo and a Kenwood VZ907 pop-out touchscreen with navigation have been added in the center stack, and a CD changer is mounted in the trunk. A Japanese Kenwood/Denso Navigation Map 99 CD will accompany the car.

A three-spoke steering wheel with red stitching sits ahead of instrumentation that includes a 180-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, as well as gauges to monitor coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. A digital screen in the center of the dashboard provides additional information including boost pressure, throttle input, injector workload, and more temperature readings. The digital odometer shows just under 25k kilometers (~15k miles), approximately 2,700 kilometers of which have been added under current ownership.

The twin-turbocharged 2.6-liter RB26DETT inline-six utilizes individual throttle bodies, dual overhead camshafts, and 24 valves. Output was rated at 276 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque when new. An adjustable strut bar extends over the red-finished valve cover. The powertrain was serviced by the seller’s shop—Boosted Creations of Palmyra, New York—with replacement spark plugs and fluid changes for the engine, transmission, and differentials in April 2020. The engine oil was changed again toward the end of 2020.

Power is delivered to the wheels through a six-speed manual transmission and an ATTESA four-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip rear differential. Additional photos of the underside are presented in the gallery.

The data plate affixed in the engine bay indicates that this is a V-Spec R34 GT-R delivered new finished in Midnight Purple II with a twin-turbocharged RB26DETT engine, a six-speed manual transmission, climate control, four seats, a rear wiper, privacy glass, an aero package, no audio equipment, and a rear fog lamp.

Manuals as well as auction-inspection paperwork and importation documents will accompany the car along with a Show or Display exemption letter from NHTSA, which is addressed to the seller’s father and shown in the gallery below.

Transfer of ownership must be approved by NHTSA before the title changes hands. The buyer must also apply for a new “show or display” approval from NHTSA and provide current photos of the car. Potential buyers should be aware that the vehicle is limited to 2,500 miles per year and must be made available for inspection by NHTSA until it is not less than 25 years old.
