How to Get Rid of Rust on Your Crops

What is Plant rust?

There are over 5,000 known species of rust on plants. Common rust is a fungal disease that can infect coffee, roses, garlic, almonds, and numerous other plants. Rust is commonly found on mature plants where symptoms appear on the surfaces of lower leaves.

Steps to Eradicate Rust:

  1. Identify the issue.
  2. Prune any affected leaves from the plant.
  3. Apply 2-oz of PureCrop1 per gallon of filtered water as a foliar spray every 2-3 days until the infestation subsides.
  4. For preventative measures apply 1-oz of PureCrop1 per gallon of filtered water as a foliar spray every 7-10 days.

Note: It is important to break the life cycle of any pests to completely irradicate them. Exact measurements for each farmer will differ slightly due to variations in crops, growing methods, and geography. Make slight adjustments until you've found the ratios that work for you!

Rust Pest Watch

Early on, rust can show up as white, slightly raised spots on stems and the undersides of leaves. Next, the spots become covered with reddish-orange spore masses. Finally, leaf pustules may turn yellow-green and eventually black. Severe infestations will cause leaves to drop.

PureCrop1 dilution recomendations

  •  In the conventional agriculture space, we suggest using a 0.75% dilution rate of PureCrop every 7-12 days as a preventative. If you are experiencing an infestation, increase the dilution rate to 1.5% and also increase frequency.
  • For hydro-growers, we suggest using a 1-oz dilution rate every 7-10 days as a preventative. Increase the dilution rate to 2-oz of PureCrop1 per gallon of *filtered* water, spraying every 2-3 days until the infestation is gone.
PureCrop1 is not a "one-and-done" type of spray typical to conventional chemical treatments. Much of PureCrop1's chemistry occurs on the microscopic level, making it difficult to observe in real-time. However, you should see a noticeable difference in your plant with consistent coverage after your first few sprays.

Don't leave your crops to chance. Protect with PureCrop1.
