Sumo wrestler Kotooshu, BulgariaKOTOOSHU (real name Kaloyan Stefanov Mahlyanov) is 16th foreigner and the first representative of Bulgaria, who attained himself the right to appear in the strongest category of the Japanese Professional Sumo.

În the way from the initial division dzenokutchi to makuutchi he had to pass through 11 tournaments. This is a record for the national Japanese fight!

Kotooshu is a 2-meter heigh Balkan giant, who already deserved comparison with yokodzuna Akebono, and the specialists predict a bright future for the Bulgarian. Kaloyan Stefanov Mahlyanov was born o­n February 19, 1983, in the city of Veliko Tarnovo.
In November 2002, under the pseudonym Kotooshu, the Bulgarian made a debut o­n the professional dohyo. At the beginning of his career, the young European gained 13 victories, winning simultaneously a small goblet in the initial division - dzenokutchi. Before the March tournament in 2003, Kotooshu obtained a serious injury of the right elbow. Oyakata strongly recommended him to go into hospital, but the brave rikishi decided to stay in the battle and after rising to the arena 7 times, the giant suffered o­nly o­ne defeat.
